Endless mountain panorama and view of Lake Chiemsee! Take the Kampenwand cable car or walk to the Steinling Alm. The easiest, most comfortable, and fastest way is via the Kampenwandbahn cable car, which departs from Aschau directly behind our guesthouse. Parking is available on site.
After about a 15-minute ride in the historic gondola, you reach the mountain station. From there, it’s an easy 20- to 30-minute walk along the high-altitude trail to the Steinling Alm. Alternatively, you can walk directly from berge in about 3 hours via hiking trail 22 without taking the gondola.

This district of the municipality of Aschau, 11 km away, was recently selected for the exclusive circle of mountaineering villages and is thus officially recognized as an example of sustainable Alpine tourism. It is definitely worth a visit, whether as a starting point for hikes in the Geigelstein nature reserve or to explore the picturesque village with its numerous listed buildings and Baroque church.
Incidentally, you can use the bus to and from Sachrang free of charge with our guest card. The approximately four-hour “Grenzenlos” hiking trail through the wildly romantic Priental valley is varied and has almost no significant inclines. In winter, however, the valley hiking trail is not accessible, as a section of it is groomed as a cross-country ski trail.
